FAQS
Selling

New to reselling? Here's how to take photos and write listings that sell.

So you're not a professional photographer or stylist—don't worry, we got you.
The Basics
Natural light > Flash. Shoot near a window or use a ring light.
Real > Photoshop. Edit sparingly + skip the filters.
Clean backgrounds. A wall or sheet works—avoid any clutter.
Take 4-6 pics. The minimum is 2, but this is the sweet spot.
No squares. Nuuly Thrift only supports rectangular photos.
Keep it clean. Stay within the photo conduct guidelines.
Styling + Photos on People
Photograph on a real human. Show how it really fits on a person.
Style it out. Style the item with pieces that compliment it.
Capture head to toe. We want to see the full look.

Styling + Photos Flat or on Hangers
Get all the angles. Take front, back + side views and the label.
Shoot details. Show close-ups of materials + embellishments.
Show the flaws. Shoot any stains, rips or obvious damage.
Keep it tidy. Arrange + fold your item neatly–no crumples.
Avoid plastic hangers. Wood, fabric or wire just photograph better.

What to include to get the most eyeballs on your goods.
The Right Title
Think of it as the headline of your listing—it's the first thing your customers will read. Try this foolproof title formula:
Brand + Color/Pattern + Item Type = Instant Seller
ex: BDG Green Floral Bootcut Jeans
A Detailed Description
Help the community with details and share any info that isn't in your pics.
Describe fit. Sizing varies by brand—does it run small, large, narrow?
Measurements are a must. As many as you can: length, width, heel height.
Detail damage. Stains, holes, rips—be up front about any imperfections.
Style suggestions. How did you style it and how did it work for you?
Make Hashtags Work for You
Surface your items to others on the hunt for exactly what you're selling.
Choose wisely. Pick only the most relevant hashtags.
See what's trending. Pay attention to what’s on the up and up.
Be clear + concise. Use words people would really search.

Houston, we’ve got list-off.

Let the community know they’re shopping from a human, not a bot with a cool closet.
