NUULY COLLABS|

Nuuly x Tierra Whack

Breaking: We teamed up with rapper and game-changing creative, Tierra Whack, to make pieces from her personal closet rentable, meaning Nuulyers get exclusive access to styles she wore to perform and custom pieces she co-designed!

Whack let us in on what makes these styles special to her.

Mixed-Print 3 Piece Suit

Custom piece commissioned by Shirley Kurata, Whack’s stylist + Oscar-nominated costume designer; created by atelier LA ROXX

“This piece is inspired by the Jackson 5. I seen a picture of Michael Jackson when he was Little Michael and I was like, yo, I wanna redo this look.

It’s so special, so fly. The bell bottoms are cool. I just like the mix of patterns.

I wore this at a festival. H.E.R. came to see me. Yes. The famous artist H.E.R. Came to see me. She.”

Reworked Denim Dress

Custom piece by Aunt Tot, Whack’s friend + collaborator

“This right here is like the most favorite-favorite, like top three for me. This is, I think, five pairs of Levi jeans. I got my friend Aunt Tot to make this for me into a dress.

I performed in this at the Broad Museum in LA, another 50th Hip Hop Anniversary party. It’s like one of my coolest pieces though. Just gotta get into the details.”

Whack used the words “favorite” and “special” a lot when describing the styles you can rent—and also issued a challenge to wear them as well as she did, or in her own words, “kill it like a skillet.”
