How much is a Nuuly Rent subscription? What's included?
A Nuuly Rent subscription costs $98 per month, plus tax where applicable, and includes your choice of any six items to rent; free, fast shipping and returns; the opportunity to buy what you love at a discount—plus, we do all the laundry and dry cleaning. There are no late fees, no damage fees and you can pause or cancel your subscription at any time.
If you need more flexibility, we also offer the option to add up to four bonus items—additional rentals—to any Nuuly for $20 each.
We currently offer one plan, but we’d love to hear what other subscription offerings you’d like to see.
How do I Nuuly for the first time?
We'll walk you through it.
You can browse the site at any time without subscribing—we know you might want to take a look around first.
When you're ready to subscribe, select the Sign Up link to create an account, build a profile and subscribe with a valid credit card. As soon as you confirm, we'll immediately charge the first month's subscription fee to that card and you can instantly add your first six items to your Nuuly. If you need more flexibility, you can also add up to four bonus items—additional rentals—to any Nuuly for $20 each.
Add your items, then review and confirm your shipment. Review it carefully—when you confirm, your Nuuly will lock and we're not able to make any changes or cancellations.
Once confirmed, we'll pack and send your Nuuly to you via UPS. We'll notify you at every step of your Nuuly's journey by email, text or both—you can also check its status at any time onsite.
Your items will arrive neatly rolled—no plastic hangers or poly bags!—in a reusable Nuuly bag, which you'll also use to ship your items back to us. We include a prepaid UPS return shipping label in every Nuuly. If one of your Nuuly items is damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your Nuuly so we can help.
Now wear those items like you own them! They're all yours until you send them back—or they can stay yours if you choose to buy them.
Your Nuuly will stay locked while your items are home with you—this means you won't be able to add anything to your Nuuly when you visit the site, but you can add anything that catches your eye to your Nuuly closet at any time.
Your Nuuly will automatically unlock after these two things happen:
-You return your items and that return is scanned by UPS. Return your Nuuly by your billing date to get the most value out of your subscription.
-Your billing date arrives and you've paid the $98 subscription fee.
If you send back your return before your billing date, that's okay. Your next Nuuly will unlock exactly on your next billing date. You can also choose to Unlock Early, once your return has been scanned, if you need more flexibility. This option allows you to pay your $98 subscription fee early to unlock your Nuuly instantly and fill it right away.
If you send back your return after your billing date, that's okay, too—there aren't any late fees. In that case, your next Nuuly will unlock as soon as UPS scans it.
When you're ready to return, zip your unpurchased items back into the Nuuly bag, slip the prepaid return label into its outside pocket and drop it off at UPS. If you accidentally tossed the original label, you can reprint it anytime from the Rental History section of My Account.
If you want to keep any items for good, just log in to your account to purchase them so we know they're not making the return trip. We'll notify you as soon as it's time to Nuuly again.
Can I buy or keep an item if I love it?
You can. If you want to keep any items, just log in to your Nuuly Account to purchase them so we know they're not making the return trip. Falling in love is the best and we wish you all the happiness in the world.
Please note: all purchases are final sale and cannot be returned.
What is my closet + how does it work?
Your closet is a place where you can save any items you have your eye on. It's full of great ideas (yours) about what to add to your future Nuulies. Adding an item to your closet does not put inventory on hold for you, so there is a chance that it may be out of stock when it's time to fill your next Nuuly. We recommend adding lots of items to your closet and using the “Available Now” toggle on the right side of the screen when it’s time to rent—that way you'll always have lots of options.
How can I only see items that are available to rent?
Your account is set up by default so all items—both available and unavailable to rent—are visible. This is so you can add items to your closet, even if they're not in stock when you fill your next Nuuly. If you'd only like to see items that are available to rent, use the "Available Now" toggle on the right side of the screen.
Or, if you’d like to see all items, even if they’re not available to rent, use the same “Available Now” toggle on the right side of the screen.
How do size filters work?
When you set up your profile, let us know which sizes you normally wear. This allows us to show you items available in your sizes. In between sizes? Wear a different size in tops and bottoms? We get it! It’s rare that we stick to one size all the time, so you can choose more than one to ensure you’re always seeing items available in your sizes. You can also go back into your Profile and change your size selections whenever you'd like.
Can you notify me when an item is back in stock?
We don’t have the ability to notify you when something comes back in stock. The good news is: items added to your closet never go away unless we completely remove them from our inventory. Check your closeted items when it’s time to fill your next Nuuly + use the “Available Now” toggle on the right side of the screen to see what is available that month.
Why are there tags on an item I rented? (And what should I do with them?)
Items with tags attached are usually new, never-been-rented items. Feel free to snip the tags off and wear with abandon.
What’s Nuuly Cash?
Nuuly Cash is a way to make your earnings on Nuuly Thrift worth 10% more at Nuuly Thrift, Anthropologie, Free People, Urban Outfitters, BHLDN or Terrain—online or in stores.
When you sell an item on Nuuly Thrift, you have two options: transfer that money directly into your bank account or convert it to Nuuly Cash. When you convert it to Nuuly Cash, you increase the spending power of your dollars by 10% when you spend them back at Nuuly Thrift or any of the other brands in the URBN family. Earned $100 by selling a dress on Nuuly Thrift? You can turn that into $110 in Nuuly Cash, which you can then use to fund purchases on Nuuly Thrift or Anthropologie, Free People, Urban Outiftters, BHDLN or Terrain.
Is Nuuly a noun or a verb?
It's a noun: You can add to, get, send and receive a Nuuly. Your Nuuly is the bundle of your monthly six items and the garment bag we send them in. As in, "YASSS! My Nuuly is on its way," or "I'm dropping off my Nuuly at UPS."
It's a verb: You can Nuuly each month. The act of adding items to your Nuuly and receiving a Nuuly is considered Nuulying. You could say "Is it time to Nuuly?" or you ask someone, "How do you Nuuly?"
If you want to get really technical, it's a totally made-up word, so you can use it however you like and we hope you do.
